Brief Description:  Left Upper Aft Skin Riveted

First off, I had to rebuild the Harbor Freight riveter. When I last used it, oil ws pouring out of the nosepiece. I had to refill it with oil about every 12 rivets!

When I disassembled the tool, I found the problem. On the tailpiece (where the rivets are supposed to eject), there is a tube that guides their departure from the gun. Well, mine fell out a looonnnngg time ago. Still had it, but it would not stay in place in the gun.

Well, it turns out that with that piece missing, any small rivet stem piece that might break off doesn't leave the gun, and stays in that back chamber. It scored the barrel where the piston rides, which scored the O-ring, which let the oil leak thru.

Cleaned it up with a ScotchBrite pad, put on a new O-ring (thanks, HF, for providing one in the kit!), and re-assembled. Pulled about 200+ rivets tonight without a single leaked drop!

Had the wing cleaned up and cleco'd in preparation for riveting, so once the gun was fixed, started setting rivets. Only had one partial stem break, and that pulled the rest of the way with the hand riveter. Otherwise it was just rivet starting from the aft spar, then for the ribs started in the center and worked my way up and out.

The last 3 ribs are not riveted at this point in time, as that is where the wing walk / doubler goes after it's trimmed during the wing rigging after the fuselage has progressed to that point. Also, the main spar row is not riveted until the leading edge skin is riveted.

Next up: flip it over, fit the aileron control rods, debur the ribs & skin, then rivet *that* side.
