Brief Description: Right Wing Leading Edge Trial Fit
Flipped the wing back over so that the upper surface is facing up. Removed all cleco's from the main spar cap extrusion, and laid the leading edge skin into place. Cleco'd the skin to the main spar cap.
Drilled the top side of all pilot holes to the ribs. Cleco'd all ribs, but didn't cleco each hole in each rib. At this point, the lower side of the skin is just hanging down, pointing at the floor.
Flipped the wing over. Had some problems with my support blocks slipping, so made up some custom blocks, tapered to fit the wing curvature, and screwed them to a support 1x2 of the correct length. This fits the wing much better.
Removed all cleco's from the lower side main spar cap in preparation for pushing the skin into place. Used a good wide board to avoid kinking the skin, but could not put it into place with the hands (didn't really think I could, but what the hey...You've all tried it - admit it!) Will wait until I get some ratchet straps to complete.
