I did a magneto timing check today which turned out great, the timing is still set exactly at 28 degrees BTDC, I did not expect it to have changed since everything around the crankshaft and flywheel was rebuilt exactly as before, but I had to check anyway. After that it was time to hang the engine back onto the plane, easy job, and then I started connecting everything back up. I'm about half way with that now. I did remove my oil separator as well, somone of the vw aircraft engines forum told me it is a really bad idea to have one like mine made with a scoth brite pad in it. the pad will release abbrasive particles which will wear the engine very quickly. Back to the drawing board on that one.
