It took me a bit of time to decide how to jack up the plane to get the wheels off in order to install the wheel pants. In the end a couple of bricks, a 2x4 and 2 jacks did the trick. The pictures show exactly what I did. Once the plane was jacked up I levelled the fuselage by adjusting the tail height and then positioned the left wheel pant and drilled the 4 holes initially to 3/32. Then the wheel pant was removed and the holes were updrilled. Finally the holes were tapped for 10-32 UNF, so was the hole in the axle. I was a bit afraid of this part as I've heard builders having lots of difficulties with this. Starting off with the correct hole size, using metal working lubricant and a sharp new tap made this an non-event. Now I need to glass in the reinforcements before I re-install the wheel pant.
