Very scary drilling today, I drilled and clecoed the left hinge to the canopy. First I taped the right amount of plastic washers to the aft canopy bow to get a good alignment between the turtledeck and canopy, Then started drilling the left side. I know people normally attach the canopoy to the bow first and then drill the sides, I just found it easier this way. I did the first couple of holes with the canopy installed and pressed firmly in place, then I took the canopy off, clecoed the hinge in place and did the remaining holes that way. It's better to not put the canopy under stress while drilling. Finally I updrilled all the holes in steps to 9/64, and I updrilled the holes in the hinge and side tube to #30. Finally I reinstalled the canopy, so far so good.
