Brief Description:  Fuel vent line

Now that I'm done with the engine there are a few more jobs I need to complete before I can install it on the plane.
One is the fuel vent line. I have recently changed my mind on how I'm going to route this.
I was planning on just a small tube sticking out vertically through the cowling, like many have done. However, someone on the Sonex forum recently pointed out to me that when doing aerobatics with such an installation you might leak fuel all over the windscreen during momentary negative G manoeuvres, that will leave nasty marks on the windscreen.
Back to the drawing board on that one.
I've now decided I'll just go with the standard Sonex method, a steel brake line routed to come out of the bottom of the cowling next to the gascolator.
This will be a little difficult to install with the tank already in place though, normally you would need screws and nuts to hold the brackets that hold the vent line in place, I will have to do this with rivets as it is impossible now to get a nut behind that fuel tank.
I'll also have to be very careful not to drill into the tank when drilling through the firewall, there is about 1/2" clearance between the firewall and the tank so a drill stop should be enough to protect me from drilling into the tank.
Anyway, all I did today apart from planning the vent system is drill the hole through the side of the filler box for the vent line.
