Brief Description: more rework, then updrilling and deburring
Big session today, I started off with remaking the forward lower cross tie F24-05, this was easy enough. I matchdrilled the holes onto a piece of scrap aluminium and then used that piece to transfer the holes to the new part. I then fitted the new cross tie in place and drilled the new floor skin to it. Perfect, I'm now back where I was before I made the mistake. Then I continued updrilling the splice plates to 3/16" making sure this time they are properly clamped in place. I used bolts instead of clecoes to make sure they would not move this time. And with this all holes on the tailcone box that require updrilling at this stage are updrilled to their final size. Time to take it all apart and start deburring, I'm deburring piece by piece as I take it off the assembly. I did about 1/3rd today, more tomorrow.
