I wasn't quite happy with how I squared up the first cross tie F24-05 so I decided to re-do the job. This meant I had to take the assembly appart again and remake the F24-05 cross tie, luckely I had some Z04-03 channel stock left. This was easy enough and only took another half an hour or so.
I then decided If I was going to do a better job next time I needed to improve my setup. I made a better jig I sqrewed on the table with stops at exactly 40" and I also drew a center line on my table. The way I did the center line was by using a little laser tool that normally serves to square up pictures on the wall. This tool shines 2 laser beams at an exactly 90 degrees. All I needed to do was draw a straight line between the 2 stops and mark the center point, I then projected on that point at exactly 90 degrees on the line between the 2 stops my fuselage center line which I then drew on the table, perfect! Finally I went to bunnings and bought myself 2 big capenter squares, much bigger than the one I used before. With this new setup I'm sure I'll do a much better job.
