Brief Description: Finished Left Flap, both flaps now complete.
Finished riveting the left flap today. It turned out very good aestheticly, but does have about 1/8" twist when sitting on the flat bench top. I'll do some research, but an 1/8" over a 5 foot long flap should be OK.
I put another "Hints for Homebuilders" segment to use today. The flap spar uses pulled rivets to secure it to the internal flap ribs. The top holes are difficult to get at due to the curved top flap skin. The video showed how to grind off a portion of the rivet puller and mandrel so it can get close to a corner, etc and still keep the rivet flat. I also bent the rivet stem and the two in conjunction allowed me to pull good rivets on the spar to ribs. Nice trick.
Colten and I went to the rifle range today and shot various weapons including the AK47, Bin Ladens weapon of choice. Ironicly, as I was finishing the flap tonight Fox News had an alert that Usama Bin Laden had been killed. The Navy Seals were sent in and killed him and three others terrorist bastards. Crowds gathered in front of the White House and were cheering, singing the national anthem, etc. It was good cause to stay up and have a couple beers to celebrate. Burn in hell asshole.
