Brief Description:  Installed mount and lens in right wing

Today I got a lot of work done while Diane was taking Justine back to EIU. The boys helped me some and we were able to finish the mounting kit and lens installation for the right wing. I also drew the outline for cutting out the left wing lens at the end of the night.

After marking the lens for cutting, I used the vibratory cutter from Harbor Freight that I purchased last spring. I worked well, but did take a little getting used to. It seemed to pretty much melt the plastic as it cut and did a pretty clean job. I used my belt sander to round everything out evenly and take off the bigger rough spots. Next I used 600 grit sandpaper to get everything smooth.

Holes were drilled and the nutplates installed and then I used fiber strapping tape as a handle to pull the lens up for match drilling the holes as shown in the first picture. The last picture shows the final product which turned out pretty good. There is a little gap of less than an 1/8" between the lens and the skin on the inboard side.
