Brief Description: F-704 Bulkhead control column mount
Today I started assembly of the F-704 bulkhead and the F-633 control column mounts. After drilling and then match drilling I removed the material as called out in the plans to reduce their weight. After priming the back side of these they were bolted in place, torqued to 25in-lbs and marked with torque seal.
I drilled the bushings for the control column to 1/4" with the drill press and then mounted the Wd-610 control column to the Wd-611/612's. The nuts were torqued to 25in-lb and torque sealed also. The torque seal shows that they were properly tightened and will indicate if they are tampered with down the road. The control column is what the control sticks mount to and will actuate the elevators and ailerons. The F-704 bulkhead is very strong as it is what the wings attach to and carrys the weight of the airplane and the resulting stresses.
