Brief Description:  Center spar completed

I clamped the assembly together at the top edge and clamped 13.7mm wood blocks in each end (to duplicate the thickness of out outboard spars when inserted). This then aligned the top edges of the front and rear webs for A-5 rivet pre-drilling. I measured and marked for 40mm pitch across the top, and step drilled from #40 to #30 to #20. Then I disassembled and deburred the parts. Before final assembly, I primed the manufactured rivet heads and bolts on the inside of each web, then reassembled the entire component for final assembly. The last steps were torque tightening the AN-4-15A bolts and A5 blind riveting the top edge. The finishing touch was the spray primer on all exposed outside rivets and bolts. The significance of this day has not been lost on me. I am finally done re-making wing and center spars. In an attempt to get two good outboard spars I had to make three. To get a center spar that met my standards, I ended up with two. Beyond that, I got a good education in solid riveting and the importance of practice before rolling out new sklls. From this point forward, I'm back on track to make new parts!! The fun continues...
