Brief Description:  Cut wing spar webs

Today I officially begin my wings. For some reason, this step took far longer than I expected (or than it should have required). To get two good webs, I cut four. My very first one I ruined because my Olfa knife slipped on my next to the last pass and made a fairly deep scratch. While I might have been able to lightly sand it out, I'm too committed to the integrity of my wing spars to take that chance. Attempt number two was fine, but on my third attempt I tried to cut a corner and it wound up costing me time and material. I decided not to score the line as much as I had before. The result was that my aluminum creased as intended for about two feet from one end, and even separated. The problem was that the next three feet weren't as ready to release, causing the intersection to be crimped and crinkled. Lesson learned. Attempt number four was also fine. I then clamped each web to the edge of my table and began the process of shaving the edge with my vixen file until I had reached the correct final width. For this I used my digital calipers for accuracy. Once I had reached the correct width, I finished all four edges with 400 grit wet/dry sandpaper. Very nice. I did not cut to length or create the 20mm flange. Another day.
