Brief Description:  Forward lip plies and extensions

In picture #1 you can see that I've added 4 plies of Carbon to the forward lip extending about 1.5" onto the cowling. Under this lip was a transition of Flox in order to reduce airspace between cowl and lip. This of course is something that will be omitted on the second cowling so I expect the weight of this cowling to easily reach or exceed 10lbs which still isn't that bad.
In picture #2 I've attempted to add several plies of glass BID and FLox in order to "fix" the contour issues as well as extend the right side edge OUT 1/8". I'm fairly confident that I've nailed it and only a little filler will be needed to smooth it all out. I am positive that a good half day of sanding and fitting the cowl will need to happen in order to reach a satisfactory fit and finish.
After this is all cleaned up, the lower cowling will begin. Should have that started by the first of next week. Let's GO!!! I think my wife will be home within 2 weeks and I'd LOVE to be Finished with the "construction" side of this airplane and just be finalizing it's finishing work. I need to be flying by early November at the latest.....I got no cabin heat :)
