Early on in the build I had the idea that only 1 bolt on the elevator torque tube was high risk for failure and had the wise idea of adding rivets as well. Well in the last 2 years I've learned that BKB (Burt Knows Best) and adding safety features to an airplane that's proven itself over the last 35 plus years is a small waste of time. HOWEVER, now that there are holes in the torque tube I added the rivets anyway. In fact I wasn't pleased with the rivets I installed way back when so I removed all of them with a 1/8" bit and added new ones. I also was able to really clean off the torque tubes and get them ready for primer. Now something showed up that I am VERY glad I found. The right elevator bell crank/ torque tube assembly did not have an AN3-12A bolt installed !! How could the previous builder miss this step?? Anyways, I used my step drill for very easy drilling of the SS and installed the bolt per plans.
