Brief Description:  Not a bad fix, and a needed good day

After the last few days, I've really needed a break from the bad news rolling in. In my mind last night I envisioned having to make a MASSIVE hard turning S bend in the rudder cable in order to get proper alignments, but when I arrived this afternoon at the airport I was glad to find it wasn't so. In fact, The right aileron conduit only needs to change it's location by 1/2". The left wing was first to get fixed because it was the worst. I took a razor blade, cut out a 2" rectangle out of the heat shielding and prepped it for glass work. I then bent the rudder conduit into a subtle S bend and superglued it to the topskin glass. After it held its position, I made a flox corner on either side of the conduit and laid up 2 plies of BID tape over the top and under peel ply. I can't imagine the side loads on the rudder cable will be enough to pull the conduit out of 2 plies glass and flox. I conveniently left my spare conduit at home so I couldn't do the other one but it did give me the chance to complete my pushrods. I Have them ready for installation tomorrow morning. :)
