The trim wheel was a bear to notch out. I went through 12 sanding drums and they did better than the carbide bit I had. But finally I was finished after several hours of grinding and looked like the tin man in the end :) I decided to avoid future corrosion and went with the black semi-gloss engine enamel I had such great success with in scratch tests done previously. I ended up with a couple oops spots and lessons learned...like cat hair and paint are attracted to each other. DOH! I Might wet sand the piece in a week to rid of dust and orange peel depending on how picky I want to be. Either way, I'm thrilled with what I see so far.
