Brief Description:  ADSB and Vertical Power programming

The VPX Pro is absolutely sensational. I can't imagine owning an aircraft that doesn't have one. The VPX offers the ability to monitor amp draw from any device that's plugged into it, and sends an error message to my EFIS in the event that the device fails in any way. The threshold for this monitoring feature is 1/10 of an amp, which ironically is still too high for how much the new uAvionics ADSB beacon pulls without the beacon light turned on. What this does is tells the VPX that the adsb has failed or is broken when in fact it is not. The fix for this I found was to simply turn the beacon light on during operation. Bingo, now she pulls a whoppin .2 amps all the time and when the hatch is closed the light is isolated and can't be seen. I do like the fact that now I have a light to illuminate the nose area for those late night flights when it's dark on the ramp and I need to see inside. That's a win win right there :) Too bad I left my D-Sub pin at home, I'll need to finish this install in the morning. The VPX is now programmed to turn the ADSB on at the flick of the "avionics" switch. Too EZ!
