Received confirmation of Finishing Kit order with an estimated ship date during week of Dec 7th. Hope that is a lucky occurance, and it's almost a birthday present.
This is very close to the 8-week lead time on the website.
Talked to Gus Funnell (Vans) at Copper State Fly-In and he confirmed that very few RV-6 kit components are still going out the door these days. With so many other kits and advances in design (CAD, pre-punched, etc), it's amazing that RV-6 components are still available today. I felt that it was time to order the Finishing Kit now to avoid some imaginary cut-off of parts. Glad I moved ahead.
Have a lot of admiration for Vans Aircraft keeping the older parts being available for SO LONG. I have a KitPlane from 1986 or 1987 with an RV-6 on the cover - announcing the first shipments. That's over 20 yrs ago!! Thanks Van.
