Brief Description:  Fwd top skin - drilled

One of the 'details' that was ignored during the original drilling of the fwd top skin. The front (top) edge os the F-605? bulkhead (baggage compartment) has several intersecting layers and existing rivets which complicate the rivet pattern layout. So, I skipped it at the time.

Another complication was the attachment position of the back brace on the rollbar to the F-605? bulkhead. There was a minor interference with the angle brackets and the bulkhead panel top edge. After trimming the top edge that angle was positioned and drilled. (#1) UPDATE - See 12.3.10 entries for revision detail. Aft end re-fabricated.)

It took a few passes to find the rivet layout that worked out with a reasonable pattern. The plans call for 1" spacing but the midpoint overlap prevents rivets for about 1 1/2" - requiring the rivet line to be closer to 7/8th" with a gap in the center section. (#2 & #3)

Retrospective update - Jan 2010 - after receipt of the Finishing Kit, and working on the Canopy Frame, it appears that the aft tilt angle of the rollbar is slightly too much. Will probably have to re-order a replacement back brace to nudge a little less 'angle' of tilt.
