Brief Description:  Rudder cable installation

Installed the rudder cables in the fuselage, drilling holes on both sides of the skin aft of the F-610 bulkhead. Easy to locate on the QB, and confirm by proximity to the pre-drilled factory hole for the cable grommet.

Drilled the hole, enlarged with the Unibit, then shaped slightly with a round file. This easily allowed the FWD end of the cable to enter the fuselage and be routed in forward through each successive bulkheak. It is vitally important to pass the fwd end of the rudder cable through each grommet before inserting the grommet into the bulkhead. IT WILL NOT work any other way.

With the aft end of the cable hanging free, outside the skin, the fair lead is inserted into the skin, and passed into the F-610 bulkhead. Then a clamp is used to secure the middle of the fair lead against the skin. The fair lead forms an extended S shape.
