Brief Description:  Flap Position - Control

Overall interesting and challenging day to solve what should have (in hindsight) a simple problem, how to position the bracket on the flap control arm to move the POS-12 sensor correctly. The intent is to measure the linear potentiometer relative to the motion of the flap control arm and feed that back to the VP-X for flap control, automatic stops.

The VP-X has the capacity to move the flaps to THREE stops, as specified in a table, and to retract the flaps with one activation of the UP switch. The potentiometer values are a proxy for 'flap extension angles' in degrees.

The arc of the bracket attached to the flap control arm pushes or pulls a wire link, to move the linear actuator of the Ray Allen POS-12 sensor. (This has a 1.2" travel limit, so the flap arm must NOT exceed that travel limit).

Setting the FLAP CONFIGURATION is done in the VPX-Configurator applicaton on a computer connected to the VP-X via Ethernet (Or serial). There is no method to edit the parameters otherwise. The flaps position, as detected on the VP-X, should be relayed to the SkyView EFIS, but so far I cannot find the information to do this. (found Pg 13-4)
