The Front edge was treated with the Activator along the underside to establish a 'black border' as seen from the outside but no Sika applied to it there. This was appearance only. However, the 'edge' itself received a bead of Sika to the alum sheet on the front of the frame to 'seal' it. There will be a 'traditional fiberglass' front contour applied to the front edge of the plexiglass.
The biggest risk is that the side to side dimension of the canopy frame moved a bit doing this on the bench vs on the plane. It's anticipated that one would have to start from scratch to build a new canopy if this is damaged in the future. The addition of a 3" Targa Strip is still an option.
