Trimmed away a larger portion of the bottom cowl to enlarge the blister size of alternator clearance. Will have to fab a mold (female) for a smooth exterior side. Need to be shaped more.
Without the alternator inference it was possible to raise the bottom cowl into a proper spinner alignment to secure it and mark the cowl/firewall overlap. Then trimmed more of the right side away, with reiterative fitting tests.
Finally was able to secure the bottom sufficiently to test fit the top cowl (no clamps to interfere) Need to trim almost 1/4" off the aft end of the top cowl. Need to work on the overlapping areas behind the spinner, and inboard side of inlets.
Very time consuming with lots of opportunities to cut too much, too fast.
