Brief Description: JD Air Parts - latch replacement
Trying to be very careful in cutting the fuselage skin to enlarge the opening for the JD AriParts canopy latch replacement.
Mounted the new latch on two sections of scrap 3/4 x/ 3/4 .063 AL Angle, and worked to get the latch as smooth operating as possible, checking for alignment, etc. Used scrap because I had to order new material from Vans, won't have it for a few days. And, wanted to do as much testing before committing to the position and openings.
Slowly worked my way around the edges of the fuselage opening with a couple of fine files, and deburring tools. Measured and re-measured. Left a little to go, until the material arrives.
