Received the Vans order, including the new 1/8" hinges for the F/W to cowl attachments.
Cut left and right side bottom hinges, 13.5" long, then clecored, drilled, deburred, countersunk and re-clecoed each side to the bottom firewall edge. The center area is without hinges because the exhaust pipes collect and pass out of the cowl in that area. In addition, the hinge pin material from the factory (alum) is removed and replaced with stainless steel. The bottol pins are .120 inch dia. and the ends are in-board and retained.
The long side (Left) top hinge was cut to length and clecoed but not drilled tonight. The short hinge was also measured and cut.
The top hinge will have a substitute stainless pin, but of .090" dia, to faciliate insertion of the pin is a 'curved' environment.
