Brief Description: Installed two cowl hinge segments
Trent Allen came over to help and found a good task for him, basic installation of a couple of hinges. Cut a couple hinge segments on the firewall vertical sections Then started other tasks. When he was ready, cut a couple of segments for the bottom of the firewall..
OOPS, wrong hinge materials and have to re-order hinges to finish. Didn't catch the detail that the firewall segments are "1/8th Inch" and uses either 090 inch or .120 inch dia stainless steall pin replacements. All I had left was AN257-3 (MS20257-3) hinges, which has .090 inch pins, and some "Piano Hinge" which is .063 SS pin (for gear leggings). The CORRECT hinge is "1/8th Inch Piano Hinge" which IS .120 but the substitute pin on the TOP of the cowl is .090 to get the pin into the .120 hinge eyelet. Will need another Vans order.
However, the upper & lower cowl seam uses the AN257-3 hinges, so I'm ahead of that task.
Need to order the isolation conical bushings and a set of engine mount bolts. Can't do the cowl without mounting the engine, and can't mount the engine without the right parts.
