Brief Description: Part 3 of 3 - Details of F-632 components
#1 - shows where I over trimmed the plexi and under trimmed the fwd edge of the angle, F-632B. This leaves virtually no room to fasten the plexi in this top center section. Need to devise an alternate plan. Possibly position a threaded strip across the center, inside plexi. (See UPDATE on 12.4.10)
Found some AL angle that meets specs and will rough out a new F-632B bracket. Slightly wider to cover the five holes to match the top skin (F-606).
In the meantime, the original fabrication was compared to the correct execution of the design. The holes shown in #2 and #3 are actually for the WEB surface of the F-606 bulkhead. But the other side of the angle can be match drilled in place with the F-606 and F-674 rivet line, enlarged to AD4-x, as required.
This detail is so obscure in the drawings that I suspect it has been missed by other RV-6/6A builders. It will be a point of interest to me whenever I see a tip-up canopy on the ramp. Or, maybe I'm the only one who had difficulty.
