Skipped ahead and cut the supplied tubing for the elevator push rod to length with a 12" cut-off wheel that I installed in my chop saw. I then deburred the ends and primmed the interior by pouring some water based primer into the tube and rotating it was the paint flowed through the tube. It took surpising little paint to coat the interior of the tube.
