Today I moved N601EL out of the hangar and, this time without chocks, I started the engine and tested the brakes. They held very well. I also tested the parking brake and it was marginal.
After a few minutes of warming up (CHT were 250-300 and EGT was 1150-1250), I started a short taxi from the hangar area to the taxiway parallel to 8L-26R, a grass strip. Steering was good and consistent and after getting to the end of the taxiway I turned around and taxied back.
It doesn't sound too thrilling in the telling but it was!
