Brief Description: Metal Finishing Front Upper & Lower Spar Caps
To keep the file from clogging up, coat it with Paraffin Wax. Work it down into the grooves as you apply it. Clean it up with a file card, again work the wax down into the grooves with the soft side first, then clear out the grooves with the wire side. Finally buff the grooves with the soft side. This really helps keep the aluminum from sticking to the file. As I filed it was only necessary to use the soft side of the file card to keep the grooves clear.
When using a vixen file all you need is a light touch. As soon as you hear (the bad sound) lift the file and brush it out with the file card. Any time you lift the file from the surface you should brush the grooves clear before starting filing again.
