Brief Description: Root ribs

Had members of my local SAAA chapter come by on Monday to have a look at my progress made over the last year (we all hold a workshop once a year, this month it was my turn).
I'm happy to say the people, including my TC (my old neighbour) who I had not seen for a while, were very happy with what they saw.
I continued work on the root ribs tonight, I cut out the gussets and attached them to the ribs, I also made the known modification to the forward root ribs of cutting away the web between the lightening hoples to allow better access when rigging the flaps.
Although this is not in the plans, people say Sonex approves of this modification and they do it themselves as well, I checked with Kerry to make sure, I also asked him if some sort of doubler would be required, his answer was that yes they approve and no doubler is required provided you "connect" the flanges around the lightening holes to make one big continuous flange around the whole cutout, this is what I did.
The mod went great on the first rib but I stuffed up the second one, I tried to make the cut with my jigsaw which was not a good idea, it is too difficult to control and I cut into the area that I shouldn't have. I'll have to remake that rib which I started doing tonight as well.
