I haven't done much on the plane the last few days as there is not much left to be done. What I have been doing is a lot of research on painting. I think I have found a system/method that will work for me and ordered some samples and materials but I'll write more on that later. Today I made a tailwheel pushrod, this one is a modification from the original one as it incorporates ball bearings. It is a quite common modification, a lot of people do it as the original Sonex pushrod is just attached with 2 AN3 bolts which tend to wallow out the hole in the rudder horn over time. Anyway, this morning the parts I had ordered for this (ball bearings, rod end bearings and nuts) had arrived so I made the pushrod. I will still need to drill and attach the rod ends in place permanently, this is done using roll pins (an idea I also took from another builder).
