Brief Description:  Windshield installation

I took the windshield, strap & bow back off the fuselage today. I then countersunk the holes in the windshield and tapped the holes in the bow.

On a different subject, my new engine case arrived today, Scott from Hummel Engines really went out of his way to get me back on track as soon as possible.
All the work to the case is done, machined for 94mm bore and clearanced for 86mm stroke, the nose is bored to accept the Force One prop bearing and the case is drilled and tapped for full flow.
It came already painted as well.

The big difference is that this is the common AS41 case, my previous case was a rare AS21 single relief panzer case which is considered a superior case but VW only made a limited number of these as they were too hard to make.
One of the differences is that the new case was welded behind #3 cylinder for extra strength (as is commonly done with big bore conversions), with this old case this wasn't necessary as in the panzer case this area is already filled in from the factory.
Anyway, this case is what GP, Hummel & AeroVee use in their standard offering so I'm sure it will work for me as well.
