Brief Description: Constructed wings stands and mounted spars
Diane was in Mexico for a girls weekend so I spent some quality time in the shop. When I bought the wing kit from Randy I had him through in the fixture or stand that he had built. I had to shorten the two 4x4's to match my ceiling height, but other than that it fit in my space perfectly. His design allowed my to put a portion under the garage door and still allows it to go up all the way. I have plenty or room on all sides, but it is a little tight against the wall where my belt sander and bench grinder are located.
The purpose of the stand is to support the main wing spar of each wing and then build the components from there. The fuel tanks (look for filler cap hole) and leading edges are installed on each wing. I will need to install the wing skins, and then build the flaps and ailerons.
Tanner was a big help when it came time to set the spars up on the stand and get them secured with C-clamps.
