Brief Description:  Almost finished L flap, started R flap prep.

Today I finished riveting the left flap except for the inboard rib to the main spar. I couldn't find the nutplates or rod end bearings that are attached to and actuate the flaps. They must not have been packed with the wing hardware when I bought the kit. I looked everything up online and ordered the parts from Van's for about $25. No biggy, should see the parts by the end of the week.

I stored the L flap with the ailerons and moved on to the R flap. I match drilled 706A and 706B to the spar. That completed all of the match drilling so I spent the rest of the time countersinking the top of the spar and deburring all parts. I also used the edge rolling tool from Cleaveland to slightly roll the top skins bottom edge where it overlaps the bottom skin. This should help the skin to lie flat, but the tool is a pain in the rear to use and I'm not real happy with the results as the edge is kind of wavey. We'll see how it looks when everything is riveted. It is a cosmetic thing only, but is a detail that can make the skin overlaps look better.
