Brief Description: Made steel F-704 bulkhead spacers to replace woode
I finished match drilling F-623A forward straps.
The wooden spacers for the F-704 bulkhead must have dried out and shrunk as they are .040" thinner now than when I made them last winter. I bought some 1/2" diameter X 1-1/2" long steel spacers at the hardware store that I took down to 1.4375" using a file and chucking them in the drill press. Bringing them down slowly on the file while turning in the drill press worked well and gave a square and true end. Hilly billy poor mans lathe, but it worked. I made the last one slightly too small so I will need to pick up another one.
