The rivet call-outs for the firewall in the drawing are all about 1/16" too short. Many builders have mentioned this on VAF so I will make adjustments based on my rivet length gauge. I hand squeezed as many of the perimeter rivets as I could and got very good results. Tanner and Colten then took turns driving with the gun in the C-frame while I held the firewall steady and we got a lot done. They did a nice job and there are only a couple that need to be drilled out and redone.
I noticed that both F601N's were both slightly long once everything was clecoed together. They didn't fit very well with the top horizontal angle so I drilled out six rivets on each side and removed enough material with the wheel to allow a good fit and still have adequate edge distance to the rivet holes. I reclecoed it together and taped in new rivets and am ready for next session.
Diane and Colten hung out in the shop and we watched the Packers win a very close game against the Giants while I worked.
