Brief Description:  Mounted conduit and ran wires

Today I primed and mounted the conduit in both wings. I had previously cut my #20 tefzel wire to length for both the landing lights and the nav/position/LED strobe unit currently under development by AeroLED. It should be available in the 1st quarter of 2008, and if it is the same quality as the landing lights, should be worth waiting for. Today I used Excel to make labels for both ends of each wire and attached them using clear heat shrink. Next I pulled them through my conduit. To protect the wires as they exit each end of the conduit and to keep them together as they are routed to their destination, I used 1/8" spiral wire wrap from Aircraft Spruce. In the pictures below you can see it on the two 4-wire bundles. My plan is to put it on on the last 4-6" of the aileron trim tab control wire (gray) as well, just for additional protection against abrasion. One other task today was locating my mating connectors between the wing root and fuselage. Unless I find something better, I'm going with 4-pin Mic Connectors from Radio Shack (274-001A and 002). Using the E6000 treatment on both ends along with heat shrink for protection, I'm quite sure it will work perfectly. That will work for the 4-wire bundles. On my aileron trim wire, I'll have to come up with something else.
