Brief Description:  Closed aileron trim tabs and prepped for AOA

Tonight I used heat shrink to join the two connector ends, used a Unibit to drill 7/16" holes for my grommet, installed the grommet and pulled the wire. To keep the wire from pulling out too far, I used a zip tie around the wire, with the end completely trimmed. I then tested both trim tab systems (aileron and elevator) by connecting the Ray Allen switch and LED indicator to make sure everything was ready for installation on the plane. My next task was to figure a way to recess the 4-40 mounting bolts that hold my AOA wing system in place. I've been having a hard time finding a dimpling system small enough that can be used once the skin is in place, which mine is. I did a fair amount of online research and came up with pop rivet dimplers as a solution. A common finishing nail serves as the mandrel and you pull the two halves together with your hand riveter. I had determined to order it tomorrow, and was already in bed, when I remembered that one might be in the set of borrowed tools I have. Sure enough it was there! Gave a quick try before bed and it worked perfectly. I know what I'll be doing tomorrow. Hopefully I can now place my AOA ports, then let the wing wiring/plumbing begin...
