Brief Description: Trimmed and prepped all nose rib blanks
I got all the nose rib blank preparation complete tonight. Additionally, I determined that I needed to re-make my rib forms due to deformation and splintering on the edges. Fortunately I discovered this early in the process due to my multiple attempts at getting an acceptable curved front edge. I thought I would save myself time and effort by making my forms out of hardwood. Unfortunately there is hardwood and then there is hardwood, and Philippine Mahogony must not qualify as a true hardwood. I'm going back to the plans which call for you to face the inside surface of both forms with 1/8" aluminum, mounted with countersunk screws. They are then routed along the edges to withstand repeated forming blows with the mallets. I marked and pre-cut the 1/8th inch material tonight in preparation for form making tomorrow night.
