Brief Description:  Test nose rib

Well, I decided to tool up for nose rib production. The first step was to drill the 3/16" tooling hole near the front tip and then run to the hardware store for an appropriate bolt/nut/washer combo. I then carefully marked my first rib (7 left). When I saw that the plans called for a 4mm radius around the front tip, I was skeptical, given my past experience with the horizontal stabilizer nose rib. I decided, however, to give the designer another chance on this part. That was a mistake that will cost me one extra rib. In the "Scratchbuilding Basics" DVD, Mark and David advise that you need to grind it down to 2 or 3mm so you won't have extra material that has no place to go. Seems they were right again! These are not hard parts to make, so after making this adjustment, I expect I'll be able to mark, trim, file, smooth, clamp, bend, drill the lightening hole and flange the hole in under 45 minutes per rib. We shall see.
