First I finished pre-drilling (#40) all the rivet holes. Next I made cuts on the inboard end of each flap to match the outline of the fuselage. The next step was to align the ribs and pre-drill through them on the marked lines. Finally I drilled all holes out to #20 for the A5 rivets. I skipped installing the control plate until final installation, per the advice of Roger at ZAC. Because the hinges are 7' and the longest Aircraft Spruce sells is 6', I ordered them from Zenith, and they have not yet arrived so I will be moving on to the ailerons.
