Brief Description:  Brackets and hardpoints

Most of my day was spent mapping out where all the avionics and electrical systems will go. Tricky business when you've got to A: stay away from Iron, B: have a clear view of the sky, C: be mounted totally level and flat, or D: all of the above. Luckily I was able to find REALLY good placement for everything and the funniest part about it is how much room I have left over :) I keep thinking I shouldn't have left over space.
The major project tonight was designing and fabricating a mounting bracket and it's hardpoints for the Vertical Power VPX pro. I had to keep it high enough to allow removal of the actuator cover in the future, but not so high that I was wasting space up there. I am pondering the location of my GPS Antennas above the VPX, however I have one other spot in mind that will work really well. After getting the bracket in position with wet flox on standoffs, this thing aint going anywhere! It also screws through F6. Lots of head scratching tonight, but I got it.
While the VPX bracket was setting up in the flox I determined that the Garmin ADHRS would be PERFECTLY located on the backside of F22. I'm telling you, this is the PERFECT spot. Fabulous access to both the pitot and static lines with minimal line and an EZ place to run lines to the EFIS and backup iLevil unit. SO COOL. I've heard some people say it's a no no to drill through F22 but it's been done on MANY birds with no issues and the holes I've drilled are farely small and filled with flox.
