Brief Description:  A neccessary mess

This is now my 3rd Andair fuel valve and at $340 it better be my last. I am running the UL Power recommended 1/2" Fuel line and my past fuel valves were standard 3/8". This would mean a restriction in the size of the fuel line at the lowest point. Not sounding like a good idea I opted for the 1/2" Selector and it had to come direct from England since it's a rare thing to use in the US. Of course my engine doesn't burn 34 gallons an hour but it does flow that much through the system to ensure perfect fuel delivery in any situation. This means big lines and big fittings. TOO big actually. I not only had to move the selector valve back 5/8", but also had to router out glass and foam underneath to clear the fittings. I'm not to excited about having to make a new mounting plate either, but I'd rather have the work then to have fuel problems later. After the valve area was cleared, I placed the fuel pumps and bulkhead fittings where they would be installed and grabbed my nylon rope. I then routed every fuel line inside the fuselage, took measurements and placed an order with ANplumbing.com for several pre-made fuel lines and fittings. Of course almost every line will be considered permanent so that means SS braided Teflon vs the nightmare of hardline. Very few fittings will mean less points of failure. The remaining 2 fuel lines needed on the firewall will be made after the bulkheads and SS firewall have been installed to ensure exact measurements. More pictures of the fuel system will be posted upon install. Stay tuned...
