Brief Description:  New landing light lense

Ugh. I screwed down on the plexiglass landing light lense a wee bit too much and cracked the plexi. GAH! These aren'y fun to make. I spent time trying to salvage my original Lexan polycarbonate lense but I swear I have no idea how to clean it up. It's doesn't polish like Plexi. I then used a new sheet of plexi to mold a new lense over the old one and I sucked at it. I tried with 2 pieces of Plexi and both times didn't turn out well. I kept re-heating the second one and trying to shape it and it's just not turning out the way I want. I may need to find a way to heat the plexi at the airport and lay it up soft, over the light housing as I did with the original that turned out really nice. I can't have some warped attempt of a lense but spending a half a day making one lense is no overstatement. This one will need to be handled with care. Maybe I'll go get another sheet of the Lexan and try that again. It definitely is tougher than Plexi.
