Brief Description:  my oh my, what's this mess. lol

So I removed the peel ply from my latest sump fix and fuel AGAIN comes out. Not only there, but down the gear legs from INSIDE the airplane. I got in the hell hole and found it soaking the foam walls. I stopped and had to make the hard decision i have been trying to avoid. Yep. Time to cutout the sump and go after these leaks, once and for all. I drained both tanks to ensure a dry airplane. I then cut out a large enough section of the sump to be able to re-apply a solid Flox border and skim coat the entire sump on the inside. What I found confirmed a feeling I had almost 4 years ago. When torqueing down my fuel line on the fuel fitting I heard a small pop and thought, oh crap! I delaminated something. Well I found what popped, but I also believe my high temp post cure a few days ago made the issue really come to life. 2 large sections of delaminated skin under the fuel fitting that, you guessed it, had fuel flowing through it. To tackle this, I not only spread out an entire bead of flox around every joint, but also laid down Glass BID over the entire delammed area affectivley sealing it off. I then added some really wet flox to the lower lip of the sump to "flood" the area. I want a TOTALLY sealed sump here. After cure, I'll replace the sump and glass over it with 3 plies glass wait 3 days, then fill her up with fuel again.
These jobs do suck, but they are jobs that when done correctly will solve a problem that would never go away. Glad to have tackled this nightmare.
