Brief Description: CHT plenums get flanges and induction box is done
The first project today was to bring the cylinder plenums home and install the 1.5" Flanges. A 1.5" hole saw is the only way to go for a job like this. I used 5 minute epoxy to get the flanges into position, then used EZ-Poxy flox and 1 ply BID over the backside to secure them in place. The hole saw made such a clean cut that I won't need to do any finishing work.
The second project was fun. I found the 2 coats of hammered paint on the induction box was not cured so I threw it in the oven for 2 hours at 175 degrees. After a good bake, the box was done and ready for assembly. I sanded the carbon fiber hatch using 5000 grit to remove some of the rough texture and smooth it out just a bit. I then oiled the K&N Filter, installed it, then closed it up. The final touch was to place the included K&N Sticker on the box to brag a little :) As soon as the weather clears, this baby is gonna fly :)
