After sanding down and contouring the last bits of the wing I ever so INconveniently ran out of Z-grip just before finishing the winglet fill and contour. I went ahead and filled the voids with dry micro but grudgingly so. I hate the fact that I now have large sections of Crap west systems on parts of the wing that are going to heat up in the sun. See, West systems MAX TG, and I mean MAX, is a pathetic 145 degrees F. Even WHITE paint on a really hot day can go above that. My impatience wins this time but more filler is on its way. In the meantime I finessed all the corners and edges then applied the first coat of skim to the wing only. Not the winglet. After all this mess of a day cures I'll be sanding, contouring and hopefully then be ready for my last 2 coats of skim all over including the winglet. My goal is to have this wing finished and hanging on the wall in 2 weeks. Ready, set, go!
