Brief Description:  Right Bottom Wing skin rivets driven

I started bucking rivets again. Although it was slow going at first, it was good to be riveting again – I miss this process. At the wing root, there is only a 3-inch gap between the wing walk ribs. This doesn’t leave much room to move around with a bucking bar in hand. It is especially difficult for the rivets at the rear spar as the rib holes are too small to reach thru. After bucking rivets that are hard to get to, it usually means that it will be hard to inspect them and get a gauge on them – so the wing root is very slow going. The first hour yielded a total of only 14 rivets driven! But those 14 are done and I won’t have to do those again. Yay! The starting corner is bad for two reasons, the airfoil is thinnest there and the wing walk gap is narrow – so those are the worst rivets to drive and inspect. But moving forward to the main spar, the airfoil gets thicker (more vertical room to move) and moving outward, past the wing walk ribs, there is more hand room so at 2.5 hours my productivity had expanded to 47 total rivets or 18.8 RPH (rivets per hour!). The other constant dilemma is which rivet to drive next. Moving up and out at the same time and trying to decide when to close out the rib… this takes decision time... In the end, my productivity spiked to a whopping 28.4 RPH average after 3.7 hours, I had completed 105 total rivets. So many more to do, but that’s 105 that are done!

I do think it was better to install the scat tube - not too difficult to rivet around.
